As a real estate professional, you know that having a blog is a great way to introduce yourself to prospective clients. But let’s face it: is anyone besides Mom actually reading your articles?

Real estate consultant and social media extraordinaire Katie Lance has written a fantastic article on how to increase traffic on your real estate blog today. Check out her top tips below:

Create a Strategy First
Especially when you’re first starting out, hone in on what type of content you want to produce, and then work toward that goal, Katie says. Focus on questions like: Do I want to be the best source of local real estate news? Or, do I want to provide high quality videos of local attractions? The tip here: you can’t just push content and expect an audience. Decide on what you’re going to specialize in first, and then work it!

Include a Call to Action
Let’s face it: there’s so much content on the Internet that it makes the likelihood of repeat readers slim. Include a call to action on your blog to incentivize your readers to return to your post.
