Updater Named #7 on Crain’s 2018 Best Places to Work in NYC
We’re excited to announce that Updater was named #7 on Crain’s 2018 List of Best Places to Work in NYC! This comes as our second time being in the top ten of the list, and what an honor it is!
For the past decade, Crain’s New York Business and Best Companies Group have been recognizing and ranking the top companies to work for in NYC. After surveying more than 20,000 employees, the top 100 companies are chosen from many industries, but all share a continued commitment to creating a collaborative, cooperative, and empowering work environment. To know we are #7 of these companies, is an unbelievable accomplishment.
“There’s little that beats this feeling,” says Lindsey Dole, our VP of People. “We’ve always been a company with a strong culture, but we create it intentionally, not accidentally. Everything we do is about our people.”
Like Lindsey said, our people take a front seat. From acknowledging achievements and encouraging creativity, to offering training programs and (frequent) team events, we continuously invest in a dynamic, happy work environment.
The survey itself was a comprehensive questionnaire, split into two parts and administered to companies across all five boroughs. The first part (25% of the ranking) evaluated each employer based on company practices, policies, philosophy, and demographics. The second part (75% of the ranking) evaluated employee engagement and satisfaction based on leadership, culture, training, and work environment. These combined scores determined each organization’s placement. To know that not only our fellow companies but also our team reaffirms our efforts in building a happy and successful workplace, is the best part of this recognition.
