3 Feature Enhancements Just in Time for Moving Season
It’s the most wonderful time of the year here at Updater – moving season! To celebrate, we’re reminding you of all of the wonderful features you’re able to offer by partnering with Updater. And, as a special treat, we’re thrilled to announce three feature enhancements to provide a more streamlined experience for the millions who will move this summer. Check ‘em out!
Can You Name All the Updater Features?
By taking a move and breaking it into more easily digestible, bite-sized tasks, we’re able to help your clients and residents complete those tasks via a completely customized experience, saving them time and money in the process.

New: Quick Quote Moving Estimates
For property management companies and real estate brokerages only.
People want options when booking a move. They want the ability to choose everything, from how their belongings are moved, to additional service offerings. They also want options for how they book their move — whether it be online, over the phone, or via an in-home estimate.
We realize that not everyone feels comfortable booking their move online. After surveying thousands of Updater users, we discovered that over 55% were interested in connecting with a moving company over the phone before reserving online. (After all, they are moving all of their worldly possessions.)
To give users more of what they want, we’re introducing a new feature that allows them to choose whether they’d like to receive a quote over the phone or reserve their move online. When a user requests to receive quotes over the phone, they choose from a list of Updater Certified Moving Companies that are available on the preferred move date. These selected moving companies then reach out within 24 hours to provide the user with pricing information.

New: Transfer TV and Internet Service
We’ve always provided a way for users to quickly and easily connect TV and internet services in their new home. However, we never had a clearly defined path for them to transfer existing service if they want to keep their current plan.
Now we do! Users are now asked if they’d prefer to set up a new service or transfer their existing service. If they prefer to transfer, we’ll let them know if their existing provider is available at their new home, and if so, complete their transfer for them.
New: Update Driver’s License
When you change your address, you have to update your driver’s license. It’s a way of life and a painful part of moving.
While we previously had user-specific, curated DMV information available, we recently integrated the information into Updater, showing users exactly where they need to go, what they need to do, and how much it will cost to update their driver’s license and registration (and avoid a trip to the DMV).
