Meet Updater: Patrick Quintavalle, Success Manager

Meet Patrick Quintavalle, french fry aficionado and resident office cheerer-upper. When he’s not hoarding Annie’s Fruit Snacks in his cabinet, he’s smiling at his girlfriend at Kiki’s of New York City over a dinner of wine and octopus.

Do you have a moving horror story?

Surprisingly, not yet.

What’s your best piece of moving advice?

Moving shouldn’t be a family affair – leave it to the pros and hire help!

What’s the largest item you’ve ever had to carry on the subway?

A palm tree – anything for some foliage in the apartment.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Updater?

The people, hands down. Being surrounded by talented, kind people inspires me to do better and makes coming to work everyday something to look forward to. No Sunday scaries here.

What’s your favorite Updater feature? Why?

My favorite Updater feature is our Preferred Provider/Local Business directory. It’s a time-saver for site teams and really makes new residents feel at home off the bat. I would’ve loved to have a list of neighborhood staples and community information the last time I moved.

It’s the zombie apocalypse. Where do you hide?

A treehouse! Preferably in a fruit-bearing tree with a retractable ladder. *drops mic*

You have a time machine, but you can only make one trip. Where do you go?

Early 20th century Brooklyn/Downtown NYC. I’ve heard the stories of my great-grandparents immigrating from Italy and Ireland – I’d love to see it first-hand and say thanks.

What’s your favorite fast food restaurant?

There are fast food restaurants besides Taco Bell?

What are 4 things you can’t live without?

  1. Family
  2. Lemon Snapple
  3. Mom’s Sunday sauce and meatballs
  4. My barber [and pseudo-therapist], Mark.

What’s your favorite Saturday Night Live skit?

I’m a sucker for character breaks so I’d have to go with Rachel Dratch as Debbie Downer.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up on the good part of Long Island (does that exist?).

What are 2 personal tidbits about you?

1. My middle name is Jon with no ‘H’ after the wonderful Jon Bon Jovi – thanks mom!

2. I have an irrational fear of sharks.
