July at Updater: Double the Workspaces, Conferences, and Summer Fun!
Phew! Mid-summer days here at Updater have flown by! Amidst the busyness of moving season, there has been little time to reflect on all of our awesome accomplishments this month. This warrants a much-needed recap. Here’s a look back at a few big wins and celebrations the team delivered this July.
We Attended the RealPage RealWorld Property Management Conference
Our team jet-setted to Vegas for the 2018 RealPage RealWorld Property Management Conference where they got the chance to meet with clients and chat all things Updater. The conference was held at the Wynn Las Vegas from July 15-17, where over 60 educational sessions were held by experts in the industry. The theme this year was, “The Future Made Simple” which aligned perfectly with Updater’s mission to streamline the moving process.
Our very own, Jon Wyant, VP and Executive Director of Property Management, had the honor of hosting a session on “How Technology Streamlines the Resident Move-In Process.” With so much to take in, it was truly an exciting and enriching experience for our team.
We Attended Inman Connect San Francisco
Our awesome HOA team traveled to San Francisco for the Inman Connect conference this past month. This week-long event brings together over 4,000 of the best and the brightest in the real estate industry, from brokers and agents to CMOs and tech entrepreneurs. Not only was it an incredible opportunity to network and share ideas surrounding cutting-edge technology, but it also gave our team a chance to catch up with clients, review portfolio performances, and walk clients through our exciting new features.
We Expanded our NYC Headquarters!
Updater’s headquarters has officially doubled in size! On July 25, 2018, we opened the 6th floor at 19 Union Square West after a seven-month build out. From spacious new conference rooms to a fully-stocked kitchen, to a beautiful mural of Updater photos throughout the years, our new digs were totally worth the wait. We Were Featured in Built In NYC’s Summer Fun Article
Our quarterly off-site meetings consist of almost as much fun and games as they do deep dives into our business. At our most recent offsite, our awesome People Experience Manager Ashley worked with ZogSports, to create a customized field day for our lively bunch. Built In NYC, an online community for NYC startups and tech companies, recognized our fun-loving spirit and featured us in a list of NYC tech company summer parties that are “not your father’s corporate events.” Summer fun for the win!
Our Marketing Team Held A Rooftop BBQ
The team that barbecues together – stays together. Our marketing team got together for a memorable night of tasty kabobs, wine, and beautiful views of Central Park. There was no better way to unwind midweek and bond over everything from books that changed our lives, to hilarious Halloween stories, to our excitement on all things Updater. Thanks for hosting us, Deborah!
We Appreciated the Interns
July 26th was National Intern Day, so our NYC office celebrated accordingly! To show the four summer 2018 interns, Naomi, Haley, Kelly, and myself, how much Updater cares, our managers and the People Experience team planned a day full of special surprises. We were taken out to an out-of-this-world taco lunch and greeted with confetti bombers, cookie cake, and notes of appreciation from the entire company upon our return. It was a wonderful day that left our hearts so full!
