Amanda Thomason is a powerhouse real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Arizona, assisting clients in both the buying and selling of homes. As a long-time Arizona resident, Amanda has both the knowledge of the geographic region and the real estate expertise to streamline the buying and selling process for clients. We caught up with Amanda to learn more about her tips for succeeding in the industry and how she engages clients from the beginning of their journey to the end.

As an agent working on your own, tell us about your current business model — what makes you stand out from the competition?

I am not a listing or buyers agent, I am both. It’s important to keep your book of business balanced and have knowledge of both sides, for marketing purposes. I have my referrals and social media marketing to keep my business humming and to ensure that my name is highlighted in the community.

The home buying/selling process is a hectic time for people (before, during, and even after a move). What takes a client experience from so-so to exceptional?

Communication! Let the client know step-by-step what is going on in the transaction and relay messages quickly, even if it’s bad news. You also need to get in front of every aspect of the day-to-day and be honest with clients. They really appreciate this and it elevates their experience to exceptional.

What kind of impact has Updater had on the client experience you deliver?

Updater allows the client to consolidate all their moving tasks, it gives them back time in their day and provides them with peace of mind. It’s also a seamless process, which makes the moves of our clients significantly easier.

Compared to other technology products you've used, how easy was it to incorporate Updater into your day-to-day?

Literally, it is a click of a button, or at least it feels that easy! Compared to other tools or software I have implemented and use on a daily basis, Updater has been a breeze. Then, of course, the value it brings my clients is top-notch.

How have your clients responded to Updater?

I have had nothing more than positive feedback from my clients that use Updater. It saves them so much time and energy. What’s not to love about that!

Are there any specific real estate trends that you are keeping your eye on? If so, why?

There is so much going on in the city of Goodyear, so I am keeping my eye on the growth. We have UPS, Amazon, Microsoft, and other companies coming into our city. This will provide jobs, land development, and a ton of need for relocation in the real estate industry.

What is your best piece of advice for first-time homebuyers?

Ask questions! Being a first-time homebuyer can be scary. There are so many steps, your realtor should be advising you on each and every detail to make sure the process is fun and comfortable for all parties involved.
