Getting Refreshed & Recharged with RE/MAX at the Vegas R4 Convention

With over 6,000 RE/MAX affiliates from around the globe at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, RE/MAX rolled out all of the stops this year for its annual R4 Convention. From a lineup of top-notch speakers (including Magic Johnson!) to an Approved Supplier Marketplace full of bustling activity, R4 was the perfect way to prepare for moving season crunch time.

RE/MAX Chairman & Co-Founder David Liniger opened up the exciting four days at the Opening General Session with a motivation speech on how RE/MAX was founded on producing “true entrepreneurs.” One special highlight from his speech: “The reason RE/MAX works is because we are -- and are proud to be -- an agent-centric business. We put our faith and trust in the top producers and don’t tell you how to do your business; you know how to run your business.”

Afterwards, Chief Creative Officer of ad agency Leo Burnett and RE/MAX CEO Margaret Kelly introduced the “Dream With Your Eyes Open” national advertising campaign. The campaign emphasizes that choosing the right service for your move can mean all the difference between a moving disaster or a seamless transition to the next chapter in your life. Said Kelly, “Dreaming of your next home is easy, but the process can be difficult. For something that’s a huge life decision, you really need to choose the right guide to navigate the process from start to finish.” We’ll be excited to see where the campaign is headed in the coming months!

The next few days were abuzz with energizing break-out sessions, professional training courses, and networking events. Of special note was the RE/MAX Approved Suppliers Marketplace, where we joined our fellow RE/MAX Approved Supplier friends -- BoomTown, Dotloop, Trulia,  Zillow, Oakley Signs, and more -- for an exhibit of the industry’s cutting-edge products and services. Also of note was the Global Referral Exchange event, a global networking party that truly allowed RE/MAX agents to celebrate the “One World. One Re/MAX” attitude and meet colleagues from around the world.

Looks like Frank Sinatra decided to join us for dinner with our friends from BoomTown!

On our end, we transformed our Marketplace booth into our very own flipbook station on the trade show floor. Everyone had the chance to drape themselves in awesome Updater and RE/MAX swag and make some pretty ridiculous flipbooks. Check out our montage of all flipbooks. Keep your eyes peeled for our Founder and CEO, David Greenberg, acting crazy in here. A special thanks to alittlescene.com for designing our flipbooks -- they were quite the hit.

We also had the chance to meet RE/MAX agent Linda Hoverman-O’Neal, who brings a whole new meaning to “RE/MAX agent pride.” Linda has become somewhat of a RE/MAX celebrity for her incredible bedazzled RE/MAX shirts - we are chomping at the bit to get our hands on a jeweled Updater tee. Look her up on Mainstreet to get your own shirt - thanks for the inspiration, Linda.

On our off time, we headed over to Fremont Street to get a little flavor of old Las Vegas. Who said work had to be all work and no play?
